Grand Theft Auto VI is the new title in the Grand Theft Auto series , under development by Rockstar Games . It will be the sixth main title in the Grand Theft Auto series and the sixteenth in the series overall. After years of speculation and leaks, Rockstar Games confirmed in February 2022 that the game was in development. Images from an unfinished version surfaced online in September in what was described as one of the biggest leaks in the history of the video game industry.

Grand Theft Auto V (abbreviated as GTA V or GTA 5 ) is an open-world action- adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games . It is the fifth main title in the Grand Theft Auto series and the fifteenth in the series overall, as well as the first (and only) in its 5th era. The game was released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17, 2013, and later for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 18, 2014, Microsoft Windows on April 14, 2015, [6] . It was eventually re-released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S on March 15, 2022.
