Mad Max is anaction -adventure video game that takes place in an open world environment and is based on the universe of the Mad Max series . Developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment , was released for Microsoft Windows , PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September 2015. Feral Interactive published the versions for OS X and Linux .

It takes place in a post-apocalyptic land consisting of deserts, canyons and caves. Players control Max Rockatansky across the land as he seeks revenge against a group of raiders, led by Scabrous Scrotus, who stole his belongings, and together with his sidekick Chumbucket, seeks to build the ultimate machine: the Magnum Opus . The game focuses on vehicular combat , where players use armor and weapons to fight enemies, in addition to wrestling and boxing techniques that can be used outside of the car. The game also features a land called “The Big Nothing”, a theoretically endless land that the player can explore.
